By romanticizing a culture of which I am not a part, I’ve located myself in a dreamy “Paris” performing an intimate gesture driven by a desire to create an alternate reality. The image was actually shot on the Chicago river and addresses themes of desire, and longing while referencing New Wave Cinema.
